A Season of Gratitude
As Christmas time approaches, we would like to focus on a season of gratitude with a thankful heart. We understand over this past year and half, we all have faced some of the most challenging times in history.
Things have not been easy for most of us, people have lost their jobs, loved ones, with many struggling to place food on the table.
There are times I would love to wave a magic wand and make it all go away, live in a much better world and help as many people as possible. It grieves our hearts to see so much pain and chaos, we carry a burden of weight on our shoulders.
We understand that most vulnerable of our society, people already struggling to put food on the table and take care of their families, single parents, our seniors, youth and people that are already living in high risk situations have been completely devastated by the outcomes of this pandemic.
But being part of the Princen Sammy Eduful & Herty Foundation, allows us to play our part in offering support through provision of food, clothing, assisting in finding suitable and affordable housing, assisting our communities in finding, both mental & emotional support.
It brings all of us here, great delight knowing that at the least we can assist and support our inner city communities and low income families with practical help. But even more so, to offer them a listening ear and show kindness and love to all who walk through our doors!
I was always taught to find gratefulness in every situation, regardless how difficult the circumstances may be. I sat and reflected the other day on some of the wondrous work of Mother Theresa, her attitude was always one of gratitude and she understood her mission in helping the poor.
Here are a couple of her quotes that have always captured our hearts!
“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the waters to create many ripples”, and “The fruit of love is service, which is compassion in action”.
As we enter into the Christmas season, may we all find something to be grateful for, it is our privilege to continue to serve well and have compassion to all of those in need.
We are grateful for the many opportunities we have to make a difference, may the ripple be felt across our city and province!
Wishing you all a joyous season filled with hope & gratefulness!
From all of us at the Princen Sammy Eduful & Herty Foundation
Happy Holidays & Merry Christmas
